Position Overview

The Direct Marketing Specialist responsibilities include deciding catalog content (both printed catalog and digital versions) and direct mail campaigns, forecasting items, paginating programs, coordinating programs with various internal departments and implementing marketing strategies determined by Director.

This work will be a critical factor for the smooth operation of the Direct Mail team and the attainment of its goals, as well as for the long-term growth of the company.

Essential Functions, Duties & Accountabilities

Develop timelines for promotion schedule. Ensure that enough time is given to complete each promotion on time and make the mail dates. Coordinate all aspects of the programs so all deadlines are met.

Employ marketing analytics techniques to determine best product mix for each program.

Create forecasts for both new and existing/repeating items for all assigned programs.

Use historical data to paginate the catalogs/programs using best practices to place strongest products in best positions and understand P/L implications of space allocation.

Update spreadsheets and other systems as needed with statistical, financial and operational information including offer code set up in eCometry and Vault order entry systems.

Work with Product development (PD), Creative and Marketing (including web department) to coordinate brand ideals and ensure consistency of message and product lines to the customer.

Review and proof catalogs and other mail pieces at various points in the Creative process.

Work closely with PD to source new and existing products to create strong programs that will meet or exceed our budget for the various key metrics of each program including support of our Outbound sales efforts with our Premier catalogs; new customer response for our Prospect catalogs; and our profit goal for the existing Customer catalogs.

Project management of ongoing programs and assist in developing new concepts

  1. Serve as a member of the Catalog Team and support others as necessary.

  2. Maintain flexibility in work schedule to meet business needs.

  3. Actively and positively contribute to the overall success of GovMint.com through regular contributions to the general management of the company. Participate and provide leadership in inter-departmental meetings, projects and informal activities. Support the company and other departments wherever and whenever your skills and experience would be beneficial.

  1. Uphold and promote AMS's I-CARE values system of integrity, communication, accountability, respect   and energy in all relationships with customers, suppliers, fellow employees and other stakeholders

  2. Ensure the confidentiality and full and complete safeguarding of the company's trade secrets and any of our business clients' customer lists and related records.

 

Requirements

Educational Requirements

 

  1. BA/BS -- Preferably in Marketing, Business or relevant field will be a strong advantage.

 

Experience and Skills

 

  1. One to three years of direct marketing experience.

  2. Ability to manage multiple projects to ensure on-time, on-budget completion.

  3. Innovative, solid critical thinker with business-creative capabilities combined with a strong analytical and numbers-oriented approach to metrics

  4. Solid quantitative analytical skills and the ability to interpret data.

  5. Proven self-starter with the ability to work in a fast moving, entrepreneurial environment.

  6. Well-organized with a customer-oriented approach.

  7. Good communication and people skills.

Specialized Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

  1. Proven experience and success in product forecasting of catalogs as well as other forms of printed direct marketing preferred

  2. Strong PC skills -Excel, Word, Outlook
