Position Overview

Produce compelling, high quality direct response copy writing for our e-Commerce channel, with a particular emphasis on SEO maximized content. The Web Content Copy Writer will partner with Product Development and the Web Marketing team to deliver powerful web product copy, web content related to coins and collecting, and SEO enhanced product category copy as directed by the e-Commerce Director and Creative Director. The Web Content Copy Writer is accountable for meeting project deadlines, while also maintaining high standards of accuracy, marketing best practices, legal compliance, and highly-responsive copy, as well as driving continuous improvement while always demonstrating the company's I-CARE value system.

Essential Functions, Duties & Accountabilities

Writing product descriptions, historical back story, e-mails, and general collecting guidelines for collectible coins and currency.

  1. Ensure that all web content presents the product in the most compelling manner possible, while following marketing best practices and published legal/ethical/brand guidelines.
  2. Write email and landing page copy to support web team's weekly email contact strategy.
  3. Write engaging, upbeat descriptions for collectible items that reflect the overall theme of the item and its time period, while also relating to novice collectors, female readers, and younger consumers.

Research, write, and curate non-sales web content.

  1. Write content regarding collectible coins, the minting process, precious metals, and other relevant topics in order to engage customers, suggest collecting goals, and establish GovMint.com as the go-to source for all coin collecting knowledge and insight.

Oversee freelance writers to insure adherence to styleguide.

Partner with Product Development and Marketing.

  1. Understand the requirements and parameters of each new project while executing web copy which delivers the best possible engagement and conversion rates.
  1. Collaborate with Product Development mangers and buyers to best present a given collectible coin/currency item on the site. Avoid clich or 'cookie cutter' copy.
  1. Ability to follow written and verbal direction, while also demonstrating creative problem-solving and marketing best practices.
  2. Embody the company's I-Care value system, especially when interacting with other internal associates and external contacts.

Adword and SEO Maximization of our Site

  1. Research keywords using Google's Adwords Keyword Planner in partnership with the GovMint.com e-Commerce team and thoughtfully weave them throughout copy and into keyword and meta tag fields.

 

Meet All Project Deadlines and Priorities.

  1. Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating a willingness to re-prioritize personal workload as required in order to meet deadlines imposed by the Creative Director or Director of e-Commerce as appropriate.

Maintain high level of accuracy and compliance.

  1. Ability to understand our product well enough to avoid errors, inaccuracies, or misrepresentations of any kind. Strong attention to detail, as well as willingness to ask questions regarding any product details which are unclear.

Additional Functions, Duties & Accountabilities

  1. Serve as a member of various strategic or process improvement teams as directed by supervisor or Creative Director
  2. Maintain flexibility in work schedule to meet business needs.
  3. Actively and positively contribute to the overall success of GovMint.com through regular contributions to the general management of the company. Participate and provide leadership in inter-departmental meetings, projects and informal activities. Support the company and other departments wherever and whenever your skills and experience would be beneficial.
  4. Uphold and promote AMS's I-CARE values system of integrity, communication, accountability, respect and energy in all relationships with customers, suppliers, fellow employees and other stakeholders.

Ensure the confidentiality and full and complete safeguarding the company's trade secrets and any of our business clients' customer lists and related records.

Educational Requirements

  1. Bachelor's Degree or higher in Marketing, Writing, History, Journalism, or equivalent experience.

Experience and Skills

  1. At least two years of relevant copy writing and web content experience for a marketing or retail sales organization.
  2. A proven track record of producing strong, comprehensive web content.

Specialized Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Strong working knowledge of Mac OS, Adobe Creative Suite, and HTML.
  2. Skills and experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  3. Additional skills in cloud-based collaborative project managment tools preferred.
  4. Strong, self-directed research skills required in order to uncover historic back story behind various collectible coins and currency.
