Position Overview

The Product Analyst will lead the forecasting and demand planning for all new, incoming product. They're also responsible for completing sales analysis for replenishment of product. This position partners closely with other site merchandising, online paid media, online content marketing, creative, product development, IT, and other departments to ensure flawless execution of all product launches.

Essential Functions, Duties & Accountabilities

Forecasting & Demand Panning for Ecommerce

         Manage inventory by accurately forecasting inventory needs for new and existing items to ensure high in-stock rates while managing overstocks to deliver the appropriate inventory turnover rate.

  • Use historical data to build forecasts and maintain stock rates on relevant products for Ecommerce business.

  • Manage optimization efforts, including implementing and managing promotions, onsite ads, building category-specific & special pages and content layouts, cross-sell and up-sell tools, etc.

  • Work with team to drive the Marketing Calendar and collaboration and planning between Product Development and Ecommerce Teams for new product launches.

         Manage assigned product line(s) to deliver on sales, margin, profitability, in-stock and turnover goals.

         Analyze product performance and recommend appropriate pricing and to balance sales volume with profitability.

         Work with the Product Development team to greatly expand the online product assortment(s) to drive core KPIs by studying sales results, customer on-site behaviors, competitors' sites and researching numismatic news and trade publications and cresting product line forecasts.

  • Oversees the process to manage the product assortment, content, stock status, attribution, images - and the various systems that are involved.

Additional Functions, Duties & Accountabilities

Overall Business Management

  • Support the establishment of annual budget and forecasts by product line, in conjunction with Digital Marketing.

  • Ensure achievement of monthly and annual Ecommerce goals and P&L, instituting corrective actions and exploiting new opportunities to ensure performance at or above budget levels.

  • Ensure the development and execution of appropriate tracking, reporting and analysis at the product and category level to enable effective and timely decision making and actions.

  • Identify and exploit opportunities for continuous improvement.


    Educational Requirements

    Four year degree in marketing, business or other related area of study.


    Experience and Skills

    • Two years of Ecommerce product analysis and merchandising experience preferred

    • Minimum of one year of inventory management and analysis experience

    • Innovative, solid critical thinker with business-creative capabilities combined with a strong analytical and numbers-orientated approach to metrics.

    • Proven ability to build consensus and is a relationship builder with ability to generate alignment and drive key issues to resolution and work effectively within a cross-departmental team; Collaboration and transparency is key.

    • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

    • Ability to forecast and determine product attributes and trends.

    • Contribute to various projects to ensure on-time, on-budget completion.

    Specialized Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Experience in using an E-Commerce System or Content Management System

    • Experience with Google analytics or similar web analytics tools.

    • Advanced PC skills Excel, Word and Outlook as well as experience with sales reporting and inventory systems.
