Position Overview

The Marketplace Specialist works hand-in-hand with the Sr. Marketing Manager to develop a strategy for current and potential e-commerce marketplaces. The Marketplace Specialist will then oversee the implementation and execution of the strategy. The Marketplace Specialist serves as the internal and external point of contact for all partnerships and should continuously evaluate the performance of the channels to drive decisions.

Essential Functions, Duties & Accountabilities

eBay Marketplace

  1. Analyze the performance and potential of this channel
  2. Manage the vendor relationship with eBay to ensure that goals and initiatives are accomplished on time and company remains in good standing
  3. Increase visibility of product listings through content and category optimization, while ensuring product details meet channel-specific requirements
  4. Coordinates Daily Deal item selection, procurement, pricing, quantities, start/ending dates and accounting reporting along with resolving any disputes with the Marketplaces
  5. Coordinate the maintenance/updates to the various store templates with Web Development Team or outside companies as needed
  6. Monitoring of seller performance and partnering with appropriate areas such as Operations, Web Development or Finance to proactively resolve issues
  7. Consult E-Commerce Merchandizers on product selection for deals, promotions, etc.
  8. Organize/attend/participate in various meetings to run the business and monitor selling channels
  9. Oversee Marketplace Promotional Calendar and work with Digital Marketing Team to drive and approve marketing materials
  10. Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, or ad hoc reporting as needed

Amazon

  3. Increase visibility of product listings through content and category optimization, while ensuring product details meet channel-specific requirements
  4. Coordinate the maintenance/updates to the various store templates with Web Development Team or outside companies as needed
  5. Monitoring of Amazon performance and partnering with appropriate areas such as Operations, Web Development or Finance to proactively resolve issues
  6. Manages duties of Marketplace Listing Coordinator
  7. Consult E-Commerce Merchandizers on product selection for deals, promotions, etc.
  8. Organize/Attend/Participate in various meetings to run the business and monitor selling channels
  9. Oversee Marketplace Promotional Calendar and work with Digital Marketing Team to drive and approve marketing materials

Other Marketplaces

  1. Determine which marketplaces are valuable to the business and launch stores on them
  2. Assist in developing marketplace strategy and oversee execution of the strategy
  3. Manage the promotional calendars for all marketplaces and oversee creation of supporting campaigns

  1. Partners with team that manages key functionality on website management and search functionality
  1. Maintains flexibility in work schedule to meet business needs.
  2. Actively and positively contribute to the overall success of the company through regular contributions to the general management of the company.
  3. Participate and provide leadership in inter-departmental meetings, projects and informal activities.
  4. Support the company and other departments wherever and whenever your skills and experience would be beneficial.

  6. Ensures the confidentiality and full and complete safeguarding the company's trade secrets and any of our business clients' customer lists and related records.

Requirements

Educational & other key Requirements

  1. 4-year college degree in marketing, communications, or related field, and/or equivalent work experience.
  2. Experience within eBay and/or Amazon platforms preferred
  3. Knowledge of SQL a plus
  4. Proficient with MS Office suite, especially Excel
